Steven Brown
October 5, 1954 – December 13, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Brown, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Steven passed away on December 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and ambition that will be cherished forever.
Born on October 5, 1954, to Samuel Brown and Adeline Brown Richardson, Steven was the second youngest of 11 siblings. Known for his humor, charisma, and unstoppable drive, he was a man who embraced life to the fullest and found joy in both the simple and profound.
Steven’s passions were as diverse as they were meaningful. He loved fishing, collecting coins, shooting pool, bowling, buying jewelry, making jokes, making money, singing, and, above all, spending time with his loved ones—especially his grandchildren. Steven had a generous spirit, always ready to help those he cared about.
Throughout his life, Steven demonstrated incredible ambition and determination. He proudly owned two homes, several cars, and partook in various business ventures, always striving to create a better life for his family.
Steven was preceded in death by seven siblings: Jessie Brown, Sadie Brown, George Brown, Varnell Scipio, Samuel Brown, Jeannette Richardson, and Diane Brown. He leaves behind three siblings: Melissa Brown, Arlene Walker, and Johnnie Mack Brown.
He will always be cherished and remembered by his loving and devoted wife and soulmate of over 40 years, Tammy Foster. Together, they built a life full of love and pride, raising a family he adored. Steven is survived by his children: Charles, Clara, Steven (“Mannyboe”), Thirston (“Gotti”), Dequina, Tammy (“MiMi”), Steven (“Bam-Bam”), Unique, Arshawanna, Steveonnia, and Stacey (“Tyquann”). He was also a proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Pressley Cares, located at 1101 Charleston Highway. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind.
Steven Brown will forever be remembered as a man who lived life with humor, strength, and an undeniable sense of purpose. His laughter, hustle, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
