William "Ed" Edward Casey Obiturary

William Edward "Ed" Casey, age 81, peacefully passed from this earthly life in the early morning of October 14, 2023 at home in Lexington, South Carolina. Many of his children and grandchildren were able to visit him days before his death.

A simple graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Dust to Dust Green Burial/nature Preserve Cemetery, 205 Nulty Crossing, Swansea, SC. 803-568-5552. A memorial celebration of his life is planned for a later date.

Ed was born in St. Mary, West Virginia on July 4, 1942 ti Cecil Casey and Fayetter (nee' Fogle) and raised in La Marque, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Penny Casey; his children, Scott, Leah, Sean, Ben and Julian; 9 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sister David, Richard, Deborah and Timothy.

True to his 4th of July Birthday, Ed's personality was like fireworks. His words fell like a sudden, sonorous boom or the laughter of child or a glorious canopy of floating color. At the age of 30, after years of hearing the drip-drip of the inner voice of God saying: "Are you SURE I'm not real?" Ed was caught up into a dramatic salvation experience. Forever changed, throughout his remaining 51 years, Ed told his story to every person who would stand still to listen.
