Lillian Hope Dowdey passed away on May 6 following a long illness. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Kelly Hope, Jr. and Lillian Coster Hope. She graduated the class of 1970 from Eau Claire High School and worked at the University of South Carolina Department of Housing until her retirement when she worked with the Richland County Public Library. Surviving are her sister Myra Hope White of Rock Hill, brother, Roger Hope of Greenville, niece Judy Hope Soltis of Columbia and nephews Stewart Hope of Chapin and Michael Hope of Spartanburg as well as nieces and nephews.
Professional arrangements are entrusted to Pressley Cares Mortuary Services of West Columbia, SC. The family will be having a private service.
