Elaine Watson was born on July 6, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Clearence and Sarah Jane Grant. Elaine moved from Brooklyn, New York to Glen Burnie, Maryland, to later settle in Columbia, South Carolina. She departed this life on January 3, 2025.
Elaine attended Franklin K Lane High School. College of New Rochelle. She worked at Triborough Bridge and Tunnel, Department of Social Services, and later founded Stella’s Daycare.
She was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Grant and her sister Estelle Grant.
She leaves to cherish and celebrate her transition to her new address: 800 HEAVEN Lane, her husband David (Poppie) Watson, one son Shaun (Ehsan) Gavin, two daughters KyAsia Spann, Iesha Watson. Siblings Diane Grant, Patricia Cole, Andrea Grant Jackson, Novi Grant, Gloria Grant Baker, Tanya Baker and Sabrina Grant. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special family member Mariko Gavin.
