De`Lores “Ms. Dee” McGill Cornelius was born in Brooklyn, New York to the Late Sam James and Barbara McKnight. De`Lores was adopted and raised in the loving care of The Late Buster & Helen McGill in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She attended Broward County Schools and was a 1969 graduate of he historic Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. She attended Bauder College where she obtained a degree in Broadcasting.
Accepting Christ as her personal Savior; she served faithfully in several capacities such as The National Pastoral Secretary, The Missionary Board, The Head of Pastor Aids, The Praise Team, The Usher Board, The Hospitality Auxiliary, The Adult & The Mass Choir.
Ms. Dee was well known for her powerful testimonies. She would not hesitate to share the goodness of her Lord in the songs she sang or the testimonies she gave.
In her youth De`Lores pursued a modeling career and began her broadcasting career at the iconic Ft. Lauderdale, FL radio station “WRBD”. She held positions with American Express in the Sales Dept as well as Client Logic in the HR Dept. In her spare time, she resumed her love for broadcasting working with Radio Bahai “WLGI” in Hemingway, SC, Power 106 “WTLA” out of St. Stephens, SC., also serving as the soothing voice heard every Sunday Morning as she read the obituaries for Pressley’s Funeral Home.
For the last five years, Ms. Dee was employed with Centene Organization where she was known for her commitment, loyalty, and professionalism. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, loving spirit, listening ear, motherly hugs and gifts of friendship.
De`Lores leaves to cherish her memories two loving daughters Czai (Officer Aaron) Cobb of Columbia, SC and A`Lores (Retired Major Kelly) Norris of Greenville, SC. Four loving grandchildren Kelly Norris Jr., Titus Norris, Idris Norris, and Kenedi Williams Cobb. One step granddaughter Aareuana Cobb. Four sibling Louether “Vern” Goss (Kingstree, SC) , Jacquelin Graham (Cincinnati, OH), Deborah James (Brooklyn, NY) and Althea Green (Dallas, TX). A host of Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends.
