Darrell Ronald Dervin

Mr. Darrell Ronald Dervin, 61, the son of  Ronald Dervin and Laura Frierson was born on May 19, 1959 in New York City.  He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on December 20, 2020.

Darrell traveled a lot. He was educated in New York City, Columbia, SC and Los Angeles, CA. He was a jack of all trades… In his mind he would get it, fix it, buy it, loan it, take it, borrow it, love it, and sometimes return it all in love! He cherished many. But his Grandma, the late Gladys Sewell Dervin Corley was his ultimate love!

Our Darrell had a very big heart. He loved his whole family. He would try to do the impossible to insure all of his loved ones stayed safe. When Darrell loved you he loved from his heart. Wherever his family was, he would find a way to be there. He did things in his own way. He did not mean any harm. He was showing us love.

Darrell was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Ronald Dervin, Jr., one sister, Beverly Simpson and three brothers, Roy Frierson, Rufus Wilson, Jr., and Dubie Dervin.

Those left to cherish his precious memories: his children, Dexter (Shatavia) Tucker of Fl, Des (Shannon) Haynes of SC Donnell Hiller, Rochelle Dreher of SC,  Zakiya Pough of FL, and Daniese Dervin of PA.; Two granddaughters and twelve grandsons; sisters, Alicia McKenrick, Lisa Day Dervin and Shirley Kennedy and brother, Ronaldo Joeseppi Dervin; three special cousins, Darlene, Pamela and Denise; his dear friend Jackie; a few special aunts and uncles, a special nephew “Darrell”  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  family and friends!

The family will have a memorial service for Mr. Dervin on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at 226 Cromer Road  Lexington, SC.
